!S.P. May p.425 Benjamin Sears lives in Bennington Centre, VT; was Rep. to State Leg.in 1858. !Benjamin R Sears, JR - [Sunday, 20 Nov 1831. Ben. R. Sears was this eve'g by Mr Teesdell wedd'd to Miss M.A. Waters - likewise by the same at the house of s'd Sears - Mr Zebinah Forbes[sic] of Middleton, VT to Miss Lucy R Sears of this village. Adeline was present at these weddings which by previous arrangement were attended only by a few. (From the diary of Benjamin Harwood of Bennington, VT)] !BRS He was a wheelwright. He could lay out a course of lumber for buildings; in modern carpentry terms he would be called a framer. He served for two years as a "side" or assistant judge County Court 1862-3 and afterwards was usually referred to as Judge or the Honorable Benjamin Sears.
