!S.P. May p.527 Lives in Van Buren, Onondaga co, NY PO Baldwinsville. !FRS Mr Sears spent his entire life in Van Buren. At the age of 21 he bought the farm on Sorrell Hill from Browning Nichols and a year later married Hannah, his daughter. Browning Nichols bought the uncleared tract from a Revolutionary War grantee in 1826. It contained 125 acres. Between them they cut the tres, pulled the stumps and cleared the land, it proved to be a very productive farm that stayed in the family about 130 years. He built a fourteen room brick house on it in 1867. It still stands and is in excellent condition even now in 1976.
