Boston Globe-Amid a bewildering array of flags, Miss Katherine V Nazro,
daughter of Capt Arthur P Nazro, USN, became the bride of Lieut Manley Hale
Simons, USN on the old frigate and receiving ship Wabash, lying in the
Charlestown Navy Yard. The old ship has somewhat of a reputation for weddings,
and Miss nazro, blonde and striking, was the second woman to be married on the
Wabash within the last six months.
For a week men have been at work transforming the dark old war veteran into a
veritable bridal bower, and once inside there was little left to suggest the
old Wabash. There were flowers and plants everywhere, and a particularly
pretty arrangement of flags on the qaurterdeck formed a bell, under which the
ceremony
was performed. The bride entered on the arm of her father and was unattended.
Eight girl friends surrounded the couple while the ceremony was being
performed, each holding in her hand the end of a ribbon. A reception followed,
and during that time Lieut and Mrs Nazro managed to elude the guests, made
their escape to the aft deck, and boarding a launch which was in waiting for
them, steamed for State street, where they took the train for South station,
leaving for a wedding trip at 6 o'clock.
