!S.P. May p. 133 Nathaniel Sears was in Capt. Josiah Thacher's Co. in Col. Thomas' Regt., which landed at Halifax, N.S., 11 MAy 1759, and like many others is marked as "absconded." He was also a member of 2d Co. Foot, Capt Nath'l Hammond, from Rochester, called after the battle of Lexington; marched as far as Marshfield; 80 miles' travel; 4 days' service; 12s, and 4s 2d; served in Capt. Barnabas Doty's Co., alarm at Dartmouth, Sep 5 to 11, 1778; also Sep 13 to 17 at l8 per mo.; and did duty at R.I., Mar 9 to 31, in Capt. Stephen Churchill's Co., and from Aug 5 to 1 Dec 1781, in Capt. Elijah Baker's Co.; wages, l7 17 4. He was a farmer, and an active man in his day. His will, dated 1 Apr 1816, was allowed 25 May 1816; John Sears, Exr; and names wife Elizabeth, sons Nathaniel, Prince, Silas and John, and daus. !S.P. May p.113 Nathaniel Sears removed to Norwalk, CT with his parents; married and died there. He was buried in Pine Island Cemetery, near his father's grave, a nameless mound between them, being probably that of his mother. 23 Jan 1753, Ruth Sears and Josiah Sears were appointed admrs; and Ruth Sears, guardian to Nathaniel and Thatcher Sears, minors. The inventory, dated 8 Jan 1753, was approved 3 Apr 1753, above L2000. 1 Apr 1765, Nathaniel Sears made choice of Ebenezer Church as guardian. The estate of Thatcher Sears, confiscated during the Revn, passed into the Church family. (Ebenezer Church's first wife was Susannah Fitch, to whom he m. Jan 1746; she d. 7 Oct 1747, leaving 2 chil., etc.)

!S.P. May p.220 Nathaniel Sears did duy for a short time in Rhode Island during the Revolutionary war; he was then very young. He engaged largely in uilding, farming, etc., and by his industry accumulated during his short life quite a large estate for those days. He lived opposite his parents, and his house was a regular stopping place for ministers who traveled from place to place preaching, and many a time was crowded by those who came to meeting. His will, dated 27 Nov 1811, was proved 10 Apr 1816, and mentions wife Hannah; sons William, Jesse, Nathaniel and Joseph; daus. Hannah, wife of Jona. Tobey; Lucy, Clarissa and Susanna; and grand-daus, children of deceased son Stephen. Wm. Sears was appointed Execr.
