!S.P. May p. 133 Nathaniel Sears was in Capt. Josiah Thacher's Co. in Col.
Thomas' Regt., which landed at Halifax, N.S., 11 MAy 1759, and like many others
is marked as "absconded."
He was also a member of 2d Co. Foot, Capt Nath'l Hammond, from Rochester,
called after the battle of Lexington; marched as far as Marshfield; 80 miles'
travel; 4 days' service; 12s, and 4s 2d; served in Capt. Barnabas Doty's Co.,
alarm at Dartmouth, Sep 5 to 11, 1778; also Sep 13 to 17 at l8 per mo.; and
did duty at R.I., Mar 9 to 31, in Capt. Stephen Churchill's Co., and from Aug 5
to 1 Dec 1781, in Capt. Elijah Baker's Co.; wages, l7 17 4.
He was a farmer, and an active man in his day.
His will, dated 1 Apr 1816, was allowed 25 May 1816; John Sears, Exr; and
names wife Elizabeth, sons Nathaniel, Prince, Silas and John, and daus. Susanna
Keene and Elizabeth Bryant.
